  • Sierra Club X Amanda Gorman: Earthrise

I created a video that focused on a mock collaboration between climate activist Amanda Gorman and the environmental agency Sierra Club. Using a high-definition camera, I shot different nature clips and dubbed Gorman’s poem, “Earthrise,” over the video. Finally, I added different facts on top of the video, further reinforcing Gorman’s message, and included a call-to-action at the end.

  • Public Relations at Kutztown University Campaign

Under the direction of former Kutztown University Public Relations Director Dr. Amy O’Brien, I designed new marketing materials for the KU PR program. Designing the brochure and postcard from scratch in Adobe InDesign, I developed the copy and designed a brochure, fact sheet, and postcard for prospective students to take during open houses.

  • Em’s Empowerment Coaching

Emily Erb, the owner of Em’s Empowerment Coaching, celebrated her grand opening on March 28.

Em began her health and fitness coaching business several years ago, and with the help of the KU SBDC, she launched a website and hosted a grand opening ceremony to celebrate this new chapter of her business.

I was fortunate to meet with Emily several times to assist her with planning her ceremony. We considered the venue, catering options, how to promote her event on social media, and other logistics.

I wrote a press release and invited two of her local legislators whom attended the event.

  • Bespoken Cottage

Kimberly and Jeff are the owners of Bespoken Cottage, a woodworking small business.

Opening their first retail location, Kim and Jeff wanted a grand opening ceremony to include their community ties; they invited Amish Ice Cream makers and a local coffee brewer to supply pastries and coffee roasts at their event.

After pitching the event, the Main Line Today added their event to their list of “Things To Do This Weekend.”

  • Strand Theatre Website Redesign

Collaborating with several students, I worked to redesign the Strand Theatre’s website. Working alongside our client contact, we developed a brand kit that included a logo refresh, a color scheme, and fonts.

Using the brand kit, we designed a website mockup for our client and focused on creating a fresh website that was easy to navigate.

I developed the storefront, which included a page for selling merchandise and tickets. I also worked on the updated history page, where I learned CSS coding to create a vertical and interactive timeline.

  • Bodhi Yoga and Wellness Grand Opening

Marnie, the founder of Bodhi Yoga and Wellness, held her grand opening ceremony on Saturday, March 8.

Prior to the ceremony, I met with Marnie to guide her through the event planning. I wrote a press release, invited legislators, and assisted in managing the KU SBDC team to attend the event.

The story got picked up by the Penn Central Business journal, providing event promotions.

  • Golden Bear Visuals

On September 20, the KU SBDC launched their photography studio, Golden Bear Visuals, with a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony.

In August, I pitched the idea to invite legislators, media outlets, and to write a press release. Leading a team of four, I worked to coordinate the event, which included weekly email reminders for those who RSVP’ed, inviting key stakeholders, emailing legislators and media outlets to attend, and ensuring day-of event details.

  • Denny Corby Promo Video x Strand Theatre

Denny Corby, local Scranton-based magician, performed at the Strand Theatre in April. Using his media kit and videos, I created a promo announcing his visit to Kutztown.

On April 11, I took photos of the magic show. Before the event, my teammate and I mapped out what type of photos we were looking for. Following the event, we uploaded our photos and created captions for several Strand Theatre social media posts. We focused our social media efforts on thanking the magician and comedian, the community for coming out, and WFMZ for covering the show.

  • Vietnam Veteran Interview

In collaboration with the Kutztown Vietnam Veterans Heritage Project, the Agency worked to interview, transcribe, and write Vietnam Veteran’s stories.

I helped interview George Leiby, a local Kutztown veteran, and transcribed and wrote his story. Using classmate feedback, I wrote a second draft of George’s story, focusing on his relationships and using more narratives to convey his experience in Vietnam and life beyond war.
